Trac Medical Solutions Announces Plans To Develop Electronic Form For Home Health Care Plan of Care

SCHENECTADY, NY
March 25, 2004

Trac Medical Solutions, Inc. (TracMed), a subsidiary of Authentidate Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: ADAT), today announced that it has released its new electronic Home Health Care Form 485 (e-485) (Home Health Certification and Plan of Care) for beta testing on its CareCert™ electronic forms processing platform. The form is required for reimbursement by Medicare for patients requiring home nursing care.

The Form 485 is similar to a Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN), for which TracMed has previously developed an e-CMN and electronic Written Order Solution, in that service providers must have a completed form signed by the prescribing physician in order to meet Medicare billing requirements. A recent Health Care Industry Update by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) estimates that the home health agency sector (HHA) accounts for approximately $30 billion in spending by more than 7,000 HHA locations. The Company estimates that more than 4 million people require home health care nursing services, with many requiring multiple Form 485's and Change Orders throughout their treatment.

TracMed believes that an e-485 will provide substantial costs savings as well as improved operating and billing efficiencies for the companies within the sector. TracMed intends to charge similar per transaction fees for the e-485 solution as it does for its e-CMN solution.

TracMed also announced that Advanced Home Care of High Point, NC, has begun processing Certificates of Medical Necessity and Written Orders electronically using the TracMed CareCert™ solution and that Advanced Home Care will be one of the initial beta testers of its new e-485 solution. Advanced Home Care processes approximately 54,000 CMN's and Written Orders each year.

"We are very excited not only to be one of the early adopters of e-CMN's but to also get the opportunity to assist in the development of and be the first user of the e-485," stated Joel Mills, President of Advanced Home Care. "This is a technology that has been long overdue and will improve the billing and collections process of the entire industry."

"As a leader within the industry, we are honored to have Advanced Home Care as a beta site for our e-485 solution as well as having them use the CareCert solution to process their CMN's and Written Orders," said Authentidate Chairman and CEO, John Botti. "Advanced Home Care is a well respected organization and we look forward to working with them with these solutions and future solutions that might be developed."
